Summary: Sophia Peterson started 14U softball at age 12. She is a proven starting pitcher, corner outfielder, and power hitter. Since age 9, she has worked weekly with pitching instructor Jackie Magill at Rita Lynn Gilman’s Softball Pitching Shop and gained fundamental experience at the 10U and 12U levels. As a pitcher, Sophia led her 14U travel ball team in strikeouts and was second on the team in innings pitched and ERA in the Fall 2019 season.
Most recently, Sophia pitched at the private school varsity level (early Spring 2020) and is currently pitching in travel ball tournament play (Summer 2020) at the PGF and USA Softball (Class A) levels.
Sophia also takes weekly hitting lessons with UVA Softball Team Alum Tabby Dabney and has trained with former Softball All-American Michele Hawkins-McHenry. Sophia led her 14U travel ball team in batting average and tied for the team lead in RBI’s in the Fall 2019 season.
